Over the past couple of years one of the most popular guests and most downloaded show has been the episode with coach Fred Shoemaker.
I had a great time talking with Fred for that episode so I asked him to come on the show again.
I was delighted when he agreed.
The first show was good but I hope you will agree this episode was even better.
Fred was in outstanding form!
I had no agenda for the show just to talk with him to see what emerged.
The time we had together just disappeared as we allowed the conversation to just develop as we went in a number of directions.
The conversation was just like Fred himself authentic and genuine.
We got to discuss some topics that I think are so vitally important that I will guess you may want to listen to the show more than once.
We discuss
The nature of how we ‘make up’ our reality and how that reality will affect everything, not least the way you either express yourself on the golf course or you get in your own way.
We look at how language binds our experience and how you can get to CHOOSE a different narrative that will create the conditions for a totally different experience.
We look at why trying to change your golf swing is often futile.
How being told to do something based on someone else’s opinion will always rob you of a genuine experience.
How neuroscience will tell us that swing changes do not take place in an hour
We talk in depth about the profound importance of ATTENTION
How attention will dictate your entire experience of your life.
A subject dear to our heart on the Brain Booster
How the quality of any learning is in direct correlation to the quality of your experience.
The Performance Triangle
Performance
Enjoyment
Learning
How we can have a more optimal experience when our triangle is ‘in balance’ and how we are doomed to failure if the triangle is out of balance.
How as coaches we can fall into the ‘they must get better now trap’
How helping a person to ‘self coach’ is the ultimate contribution
I am sure you will get so much out of your time with Fred
